How I Lost 150k To Facebook Ads, Mistakes I Made And How You Can Learn From It

I'm sure you read that topic right because that is not a clickbait or anything of such. I intended to make this as short and detailed as possible, and so I want you to pay close attention to it as many people might have made such mistakes without knowing.

So, a week ago, I finished creating one of my digital products and wanted to launch it…

I have launched the product on my website by building a 5 steps customer journey (Sales Funnel) and finished setting up all the automation preparing to just put money in adverts and wait for bank alerts on my Paystack, easy-peasy.

But guess what happened? That dream didn't come through as easily as expected. Instead, some sad things happened to my funnel.

First, I used a Facebook page I intended to grow for the sole purpose of making sales online when it comes to eBooks business but unfortunately, I was making a big mistake that cost me a lot of time, resources, and stress… WTF???

Well,

I created my Facebook ads, and the ad got rejected by Mark and his crew for reasons that the ad was a Multilevel Marketing”, “Get-Rich-Quick-Scheme”. Are you kidding me uncle Mark Nsukaberg?

I edited anything that looked like “money”, “earn”, “from home”, or “make” either in the opposite or in synonyms and resubmitted the ad and still got rejected 2 minutes after submitting it.

Cut the long story short, this thing happened to me for 24 hours plus because, I'm the type that when I start something, the end is where I'm actually looking at and I hate to see any disappointment as I'll likely spend time trying to find the cause of the problem.

Well, as I said, the ad was rejected 9 times for the same reason and it never came to my mind to try a new page. How dump I was… not until I've suffered for 24 hours and I now created 4 sets of random ads to troubleshoot my fault.

  1. I created 1 ad with the exact same copy that has been rejected multiple times with a new creative (image) with a different business page.
  2. I created another ad set with the exact same copy and creative (video) to the different business page in number 1 above.
  3. I created another ad with different ad copy, different creatives
  4. And finally, I created another set with the exact video with different ad copy

After like 5 minutes, option (2) has got approval and active…

Another 2 minutes, option (4) got approval and active the next couple of minutes all of them were active…

I was like; What? Is there something wrong with the page?

And when I opened the page, I realized the cover photo was ridiculously spammy and even though I was the one, I wouldn't approve such ads. The cover photo has “Earn money with Google AdSense”… WTF and I didn't know? Lol!

Well, that was how I troubleshoot my ad to find the fault and I got the ad live…

How I Lost 150k To Facebook Ads, Mistakes I Made And How You Can Learn From It

First, the above story was what happened to me, the aftermath is what I'm currently mourning and wouldn't want to keep it to myself so you can try to avoid the little mistake as much as possible.

First of all, I use Cartflows Pro for my sales funnels and it's beautiful, you can try it out… It has a free version too by the way.

When I was sending this traffic to this page, I got about 2500 clicks from Google Adwords which records around 2300 unique clicks on my Google Analytics and Cartflows Analytics. That is potentially supposed to have converted at least 200 orders, you guess right? Me too!

I had 570 clicks on Facebook ads which were supposed to have at least 120 sales right? Well, I woke up to only 5 sales on an N2000 product.

I know you're probably wondering what this product might be… It's an eBook I have initially sold using free traffic methods for N15000 I decided to do new year promotions only to end up spending money.

My mistake?

I advertised wrongly and overcharged customers.

The advertised price was N2000 but when added to the cart, it was N4000… I had mistakenly added the product to Cartflows page (twice) and anytime a customer clicks to pay, it automatically attempts to charge them N4,000 and then the cart would bounce because they'll not complete the purchase.

This singular act is likely to tarnish one's image and the worse is, I did direct sales and never collected their emails so I could apologize to them and ask for forgiveness.

I have doubled charged the 5 customers and trying to do a refund but more painfully, I've lost a lot of money to these ad networks and to my mistakes.

I did the funnel overnight and forgot to go back to check or monitor it. After all, that's the good news about online business. You have the freedom of time to focus on other things while it runs on autopilot.

You can do it from anywhere. If you don't have one, there are thousands of them out there it's all about research and discovery.

If you need a mentor, then, You can count on me as I've spent time researching and gathered many years of experience in online businesses. Made mistakes and corrected them which are all shared to make sure you never make the same mistake…

If you're looking for online businesses, I recommend the following.

  1. Dropservicing ( It can be done from anywhere even though you have an existing business or job, low or no startup capital required )
  2. Mini Importation ( Requires Little startup capital as from N20,000, flexible and can be done from home )
  3. Information Products Marketing, affiliate marketing, dropshipping, CPA Marketing ( I have a course for you to learn this )

You'll also need a PayPal account that can send and receive money to make flexible online transactions online…

These are all very necessary and when you buy any of this information, you automatically gain access to my online earner's circle.
